Age-related macular degeneration device cuts diagnostic time

The instrument is used as a pre-screen in the early detection of glaucoma, cataract, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), the three leading causes of eye disease and blindness.
"The FTA will reduce the time needed by optometrists and ophthalmologists conducting autoperimetry tests by more than 40%," said Paradigm Medical's Chief Executive Officer, John Yoon. "The procedure currently takes more than 15 minutes."
