Telemedicine, 'stroke box' initiatives get help to acute stroke victims quickly

Stroke specialists at the European Stroke Congress heard how the use of initiatives such as telemedicine and a novel 'Stroke Lysis Box' are making it possible for an increasing number of acute stroke victims to receive life saving thrombolysis treatment.

Acute ischemic stroke is a treatable condition that requires urgent specialist attention because both thrombolytic drug treatment and specialist care of acute ischemic stroke have been shown to influence survival as well as recovery.
