"There is potential interaction between malignant cell growth and the coagulation pathway. Recent studies suggest that tissue factor, a primary initiator of the extrinsic coagulation pathway, is expressed in various solid tumors in association with increased angiogenesis," investigators in Porto Alegre, Brazil report.

"To our knowledge we report for the first time the detection of tissue factor expression by immunohistochemistry in Wilms tumors and its correlation with clinical outcomes.
