European cancer organization offers guidelines for treating anemia

New European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) guidelines aim to assist physicians in managing anemia more effectively in their patients with cancer by providing advice on the appropriate use of erythropoietic proteins (EPO).

Such treatments can offer relief from numerous signs and symptoms of anemia, including debilitating fatigue, that place an added burden on the lives of patients with cancer.
