Indiana Circuit Court denies class certification in OxyContin litigation

The Indiana Circuit Court for Boone County denied the plaintiffs' motion for class certification in Alvarez v. Abbott Laboratories, et. al., and Johnson v. Abbott Laboratories, et al, lawsuits alleging personal injuries caused as a result of using OxyContin (oxycodone HCl controlledrelease) Tablets.

Purdue Pharma L.P., the Stamford, Connecticut-based distributor of OxyContin, is also a defendant in both cases.

Friday's order and opinion by Judge Steve David follows the reversal by the Ohio Supreme Court of a trial court decision granting class certification in Howland v. Purdue Pharma L.P., et al.
