Global pharmaceutical market set to grow 6-7% in 2006; U.S. demand increasing

IMS Health (RX) announced that it expects global pharmaceutical market growth to remain flat in 2005 at 7-8%, and is forecasting 6-7% growth in 2006, with total market size reaching $640 billion to $650 billion.

"Several key market events are expected to shape the pharmaceutical industry in 2006," said Murray Aitken, senior vice president, Corporate Strategy, IMS Health.
