Chronic hepatitis C treatment with bovine lactoferrin analyzed

Recent research from Japan has reported on a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of bovine lactoferrin (bLF) in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV). "Several studies have suggested that lactoferrin administration may decrease the serum level of HCV RNA in patients with chronic hepatitis C. The aim of the present study was to confirm the efficacy of orally administered bLF in patients with chronic hepatitis C," wrote H. Ueno and colleagues, Aichi Cancer Center Hospital.
