Study findings from Institute of Biomedicine, Department of Physiology provide new insights into biochemistry

Current study results from the report, "Novel epididymal protease inhibitors with Kazal or WAP family domain," have been published. "The epididymal maturation of spermatozoa is regulated by changes in the luminal ion concentration and the processing of the sperm surface membrane by several glycosidases and proteases. In the present study, we identified five novel protease inhibitors that are highly expressed in the mouse epididymis," scientists writing in the journal Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications report.
