As a child, Nicholas Nicolaides dreamed of working in cancer research. Since then, he has maintained a strong passion for science and medicine, always believing that cancer is one of the last frontiers of medicine and offers a unique opportunity to understand the molecular basis of human disease. His goal was to discover new pathways to determine how to pinpoint and effectively treat the disease. His mothers's death from cancer when he was 21 drove him even more passionately toward this objective.
