Scientists discuss in "Combined spinal and general anesthesia attenuates liver metastasis by preserving TH1/TH2 cytokine balance" new findings in anesthesiology. According to a study from Tokorozawa, Japan, "Many studies have shown that regional anesthesia improves postoperative outcome and particularly lessens infection by attenuating perioperative immunosuppression related to the stress response to surgery and general anesthesia.
