Investigators publish new data in the report "Rosiglitazone induces decreases in bone mass and strength that are reminiscent of aged bone. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPARgamma) regulates both glucose metabolism and bone mass. Recent evidence suggests that the therapeutic modulation of PPARgamma activity with antidiabetic thiazolidinediones elicits unwanted effects on bone," scientists in the United States report.
