Studies from E. Ferrer and co-researchers in the area of lymphangioleiomyomatosis published

According to recent research published in the journal Drugs of the Future, "This issue's Filling the Gaps in Drug Therapy focuses on lymphangioleiomyomatosis, a rare, multi-organ disease of unknown etiology that primarily affects women."

"Pulmonary symptoms, as well as abdominal cysts (lymphangioleiomyomas), are hallmarks of this potentially fatal condition. Treatment of lymphangioleiomyomatosis is challenging, as currently available options are not curative and only delay disease progression," wrote E. Ferrer and colleagues.

The researchers concluded: "This article summarizes current and future therapies, emphasizing potential drug targets...
