"It remains unproven but likely that carvedilol was the cause of the PD in the patient described in this case. It is hypothesized that because of carvedilol's vasodilating alpha adrenergic receptor stimulation and its anti-inflammatory effect, PD occurs less frequently with carvedilol than with other beta blockers," wrote D.S.H.
