New neurodegenerative disease prevention study findings have been reported by scientists at Women's and Children's Hospital

Data detailed in 'Examination of intravenous and intra-CSF protein delivery for treatment of neurological disease' have been presented. According to recent research published in the European Journal of Neuroscience, "Mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA is a neurodegenerative lysosomal storage disorder characterized by progressive loss of learned skills, sleep disturbance and behavioural problems. Absent or greatly reduced activity of sulphamidase, a lysosomal protein, results in intracellular accumulation of heparan sulphate."
