Vaccine Induces Specific Mucosal Antibody Responses in Humans

A nasal whole-cell pertussis vaccine induced specific systemic and cross-reactive mucosal antibody responses in human volunteers, reported researchers in Norway. "A whole-cell pertussis vaccine, each dose consisting of 250 (mu)g of protein, was given intranasally four times at weekly intervals to six adult volunteers," stated A.K.H.
