Docetaxel-Vinorelbine Combination Successful in Metastatic Breast Cancer Patients

Patients with metastatic breast cancer who have not responded to anthracyclines may improve when given a docetaxel-vinorelbine combination, according to a recent study. To assess the toxicity and response rate of this drug combination on patients with advanced breast cancer, R. Rodriguez and colleagues conducted a study using 96 such patients with a median age of 55 years. The primary metastatic locations in these patients were the liver (46%) and lung (42%), and almost half of the patients had more than one metastatic site.
