Orphan Drug Designation Received for Radiation Therapy Product

IBC Pharmaceuticals, LLC, a joint venture between Immunomedics, Inc. and Beckman Coulter Corp., announced that the Office of Orphan Products Development of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted orphan drug designation for its lead product, Pentacea, for the treatment of small cell lung cancer (SCLC). SCLC is the most aggressive form of lung cancer and there is currently no effective therapy. The majority of these patients succumb to their disease within 12-18 months. Pentacea is currently in Phase I/II clinical trials for the treatment of small cell lung cancer and is the first commercial drug to be developed using the company's proprietary platform...
