Hawaii is teaming up with Michigan, Vermont, New Hampshire, Alaska, and Nevada in the effort to negotiate greater discounts from pharmaceutical manufacturers for Hawaii's Medicaid program, officials said.
"Hawaii is eager to join with these other states to use our combined purchasing power to obtain better discounts on prescription drugs for our Medicaid recipients," Gov. Linda Lingle said in a release issued April 19, 2004.
