Adherence to guidelines results in better heart outcomes for diabetics

Improvement of treatment for ST-elevation myocardial infarction in diabetics according to guidelines reduced hospital mortality in clinical practice by 36% between 1994 and 2002, according to A.K. Gitt and colleagues at Herzzentrum Ludwigshafen, Ludwigshafen, Germany, speaking at the recent European Society of Cardiology Congress in Munich.
