New findings from Germany, the United States and Ireland describe advances in cancer therapy. Study 1: Tyrosine kinase inhibitor PTK/ZK retards VEGF-related tumor growth. According to recent research published in the journal Chembiochem, "the angiogenesis inhibitor PTK 787/ZK 222584 (PTK/ZK) blocks all known VEGF receptor (VEGFR) tyrosine kinases, including the lymphangiogenic VEGFR3, in the lower nanomolar range.
