Mixed hepatitis C genotypes in injection drug users cut antiviral efficacy. "Multiple genotypes of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) were detected in 5 of 138 HCV RNA positive injecting drug users (IDUs) recruited in Melbourne, Australia," investigators in Australia report.
