Company files IND application for arimoclomol to treat ALS

CytRx Corp. (CYTR), a biopharmaceutical company engaged in the development and commercialization of human therapeutics primarily in the area of small molecules and ribonucleic acid interference, announced that an investigational new drug application for arimoclomol for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig disease) has been filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The company expects to initiate a phase II clinical trial for arimoclomol in June, 2005.
