AF-induced remodeling did not alter flecainide action on conduction

Researchers have investigated the consequences of atrial electrical remodeling for the antiarrhythmic action of class IC and class III drugs. "Atrial fibrillation (AF) induces electrical and ionic remodeling of the atria. We investigated whether AF-induced remodeling alters the electrophysiological and antifibrillatory effects of class I (flecainide) and class III (D-sotalol, ibutilide) antiarrhythmic drugs," investigators in the Netherlands report.
