Scientists studied the cytotoxic constituents of the fruit body of Daedalea dickisii. According to a study from Japan, "In the course of our program aimed at the discovery of biologically active compounds from fungi, we have initiated the chemical study of D. dickinsii (Berk. ex Cke.) Yasuda (Polyporaceae), which grows on dead trees in broad-leaved forests throughout Japan.
