Phase III Trial: Provenge extends survival in advanced prostate cancer patients

Dendreon Corp. (DNDN) announced that the analysis of the final 3-year survival data of its second phase III study (D9902A) of Provenge, the company's investigational active immunotherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer, showed a survival benefit in men with advanced prostate cancer who were treated with Provenge. Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed nonskin cancer in the United States and the third-most-common cancer worldwide.
