Mitotic and meiotic cell cycle regulator expression characterized

Expression patterns of mitotic and meiotic cell cycle regulators have been determined during testis development and oncogenesis.

"Mitotic and meiotic cell cycle regulation is essential for normal development and tumor prevention," scientists in Germany explained.

However, the "underlying molecular mechanisms are not completely characterized," noted S. Diederichs and colleagues at the University of Munster, who conducted a study to "derive a global expression map of cell cycle regulators in mitosis and meiosis."
