Prevention efforts reduce hepatitis B virus (HBV)-associated polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) cases. According to recent research published in the journal Medicine, "HBV-associated HBV-PAN is a typical form of classic PAN whose pathogenesis has been attributed to immune-complex deposition with antigen excess."
