Reports advance knowledge in cancer therapy research

Reports from the United States and Ireland highlight recent research on cancer therapy. Study 1: mTOR inhibitors augment the antiangiogenic value of radiation therapy. According to a study from the United States, "it is known that radiation activates the phosphoinositol-3 kinase (PI3K)/Akt pathway and that inhibition of PI3K or Akt sensitizes tumor vasculature to radiotherapy.
