Investigators in the United States and Australia have published new cancer vaccines data. Study 1: Researchers present the structural basis for antagonism by suramin of heparin binding to vaccinia complement protein in a recent issue of Biochemistry. According to recent research from the United States, "Suramin is a competitive inhibitor of heparin binding to many proteins, including viral envelope proteins, protein tyrosine phosphatases, and fibroblast growth factors (FGFs).
