According to recent research from Japan, "the angiogenic factor called VEGF-D is a ligand for VEGF receptor-2 (VEGFR-2/KDR) and receptor-3 (VEGFR-3/Flt-4). It is implicated in the development of lymphatic vessels and promotion of lymphatic metastasis."
