Data demonstrates anticancer activity of Quadramet in multiple myeloma

Cytogen Corp. (CYTO) announced the publication of preclinical data from studies involving the use of Quadramet (samarium Sm-153 lexidronam) both as a monotherapy and in combination with the first-in-class proteasome inhibitor bortezomib (Velcade, Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) for the treatment of multiple myeloma.

In results prepublished online as a First Edition Paper in the peer-reviewed journal Blood, Quadramet demonstrated broad and synergistic activity when administered in combination with bortezomib in a murine myeloma model.
