Povidone-iodine improves laryngeal mask airway safety in pediatric lacrimal duct surgery

The use of 0.01% povidone-iodine as irrigation fluid enhances the safety of the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) in pediatric lacrimal duct surgery.

"Congenital obstruction of the lacrimal drainage system is present in approximately 6% of newborns," anesthesiologists in India explained. "Syringing and probing is one of the common interventional modalities for this condition."
