Additional indication of anemia in premature infants approved for Epogin

Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., announced that the recombinant human erythropoietin Epogin (epoetin beta - recombinant), currently marketed for indication of renal anemia and predeposit of red blood cell transfusion, had obtained an additional effect-efficacy for anemia in premature infants on April 20, 2006.

For Epogin Injection Ampoule 750, 1500, and 3000, Chugai filed submission for additional indication in March 2002 (for Epogin Injection Syringe 750, 1500, and 3000, November 2005), which led to the approval of additional indication and administration-dosage this time.
