Studies from Japan and the United Kingdom describe new findings in lung cancer research

Investigators in Japan and the United Kingdom have published new lung cancer data.

Study 1: Previously untreated small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) could be treated by irinotecan combined with carboplatin.

According to a recently published article from Japan, "To determine the efficacy and toxicity of irinotecan combined with carboplatin, we conducted a phase II trial. Eligibility criteria were: chemotherapy-naive, SCLC, good performance status (PS: 0-2), age {{<=}}75 years, and adequate organ function.
