New findings in lung cancer described from the United States and Germany

Data on lung cancer are outlined in reports from the United States and Germany.

Study 1: The maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of radiation therapy (RT) in patients with unresectable non-small-cell lung cancer treated with concurrent weekly carboplatin and paclitaxel was 74 Gy.

"This trial was performed to determine the MTD of radiation that can be administered with carboplatin and paclitaxel. This trial included 15 patients with unresectable non-small-cell lung cancer. Paclitaxel (50 mg/m2) and carboplatin (area under the curve=2) were given weekly during RT," researchers in the United States reported.
