Findings from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Department of Medicine advance knowledge in warfarin therapy

2010 DEC 31 -- Research findings, 'Rapidly progressive severe vascular calcification sparing the kidney allograft following warfarin initiation,' are discussed in a new report. According to a study from the United States, "We describe a case of rapid onset of vascular calcification coincident with the initiation of warfarin therapy in a kidney transplant recipient. Calcification developed within the media of the blood vessel wall, with relative intimal sparing."
