Research Conducted at University of Oxford Has Provided New Information about Antibiotics

2011 JAN 21 -- New investigation results, 'Crystal structures of penicillin-binding protein 3 from Pseudomonas aeruginosa: comparison of native and antibiotic-bound forms,' are detailed in a study published in Jmb Online. According to recent research published in the journal Jmb Online, "We report the first crystal structures of a penicillin-binding protein (PBP), PBP3, from Pseudomonas aeruginosa in native form and covalently linked to two important ß-lactam antibiotics, carbenicillin and ceftazidime.
