Studies from University Hospital Provide New Data on Thromboembolism

2011 JAN 21 -- A report, 'Overview of venous thromboembolism,' is newly published data in Drugs. "Thrombosis occurs at sites of injury to the vessel wall, by inflammatory processes leading to activation of platelets, platelet adherence to the vessel wall and the formation of a fibrin network. A thrombus that goes on to occlude a blood vessel is known as a thromboembolism," scientists writing in the journal Drugs report.
