Study Data from C. Basselin et al Provide New Insights into Ventricular Dysfunction

2011 MAR 18 -- New investigation results, '5-Fluorouracil-induced tako-tsubo-like syndrome,' are detailed in a study published in Pharmacotherapy. According to recent research from France, "Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy (also known as apical ballooning syndrome) is a relatively new clinical entity characterized by reversible left ventricular dysfunction. Its clinical presentation and electrocardiographic findings are similar to acute myocardial infarction but without significant coronary artery disease."
