New Pulmonary Disease Research from University of Marburg Discussed

2011 AUG 12 -- Data detailed in "NVA237, a long-acting muscarinic antagonist, as an emerging therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease" have been presented. According to the authors of recent research from Marburg, Germany, "Bronchodilation with a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) or long-acting ß(2)-agonist is central to the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Tiotropium, the first LAMA available for use in COPD, has been shown to be an effective bronchodilator and is generally safe and well tolerated."
