Study 1: Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) has been suggested to reduce murine mammary tumor cell.
"CLA is a dietary fatty acid that has been shown to reduce tumorigenesis and metastasis in breast, prostate and colon cancer in animals. However, the mechanism of its action has not been clarified. The goal of this study was to determine whether CLA altered mouse mammary tumor cell growth and whether specific metabolites of the lipoxygenase pathway were involved in CLA action," scientists in the United States reported.
