CA-125 test has higher levels of sensitivity and specificity when run with DR-70

AMDL, Inc., (ADL), developer and marketer of tests for the early detection of cancer and other serious diseases, reported that German researchers at the department of gynecology and gynecological oncology at the University of Mainz, Germany, concluded in an abstract that AMDL's DR-70 test has both higher levels of sensitivity and specificity when the test is run simultaneously with CA-125, a tumor marker for the detection of ovarian carcinoma, than when CA-125 is run alone.

The researchers collected blood from 100 apparently healthy females and 61 ovarian cancer patients. The cut off level for DR-70 was set at 1.2 mcg/ml. The specificity of DR-70 at this level was 100%...
