Bortezomib improves management of multiple myeloma

Scientists purported the introduction of bortezomib will improve the management of multiple myeloma. According to recent research published in the journal Acta Oncologica, "Although the treatment of multiple myeloma has improved over the past decade, the disease remains incurable. Bortezomib, a first-in-class selective proteasome inhibitor, was approved in the United States in 2003 and the European Union in 2004 for the treatment of relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma in patients who have received at least 2 prior therapies and demonstrated disease progression on the last therapy."
