U.S. patent issued for transdermal electroporation

Inovio Biomedical Corp. (INO) announced that U.S. Patent 6,947,791 has been issued to Genetronics, Inc., a subsidiary of Inovio. This patent claims an apparatus that uses electroporation to deliver a therapeutic agent to and through a tissue surface, such as skin, for medical applications such as delivering drugs or agents for cosmetic purposes. This patent expands Inovio's protected intellectual property to a handheld electroporation device.
