Antibody-conjugated nanoparticles are used to rapidly detect respiratory syncytial virus.

"Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) mediates serious lower respiratory tract illness in infants and young children and is a significant pathogen of the elderly and immune compromised. Rapid and sensitive RSV diagnosis is important to infection control and efforts to develop antiviral drugs," researchers in the United States report.
