Findings advance knowledge in diagnostics research

Reports from Turkey, the People's Republic of China and the United States highlight recent research on diagnostics. Study 1: DNA genosensor seeks evidence of lamivudine-resistant hepatitis B. According to recent research published in the journal Analytical Chemistry, "the resistance analysis related to the hepatitis B virus (HBV) genotyping and treatment procured key information for the study of infected patients. The aim of this study was to develop a novel assay for the voltammetric detection of DNA sequences related to the HBV genotype on the development of lamivudine resistance by monitoring the oxidation signal of guanine." ...
