Workers Blast Retirement Community for Stonewalling Proposals for Improved Care

Caregivers at the O'Connor Woods assisted living and skilled nursing facilities have been forced to file yet another federal charge against the home, this time for failing to bargain in good faith with the workers' union, and therefore threatening resident care at the Stockton retirement community.

The latest charge stems from the administration's decision to deliberately avoid bargaining a contract with caregivers represented by SEIU United Healthcare Workers-West. While workers have proposed wage and benefit improvements, O'Connor Woods' management has brought only surface-level proposals to the bargaining table, and has still refused to respond to economic proposals...
