Fresh data on aging are presented in the report "Psychosocial risk factors and the metabolic syndrome in elderly persons: findings from the health, aging and body composition study. Psychosocial factors have been associated with metabolic abnormalities that increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes. This study investigated the cross-sectional relationship between psychosocial risk factors and the metabolic syndrome in a community-based sample of older persons," scientists writing in the Journals of Gerontology Series a report.
