Undernutrition alters respiratory mechanics and lung parenchyma

Scientists from Brazil have found that undernutrition alters respiratory mechanics and is associated with the remodeling of lung parenchyma.

"Undernutrition thwarts lung structure and function, but there are disagreements about the behavior of lung mechanics in malnourished animals," wrote C.M. Dias and colleagues, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
