Recent studies from Germany, the United States and France add new data to obesity research

Investigators in Germany, the United States and France have published new obesity data.

Study 1: Leptin gene expression is weight-course dependent and ghrelin gene expression is constitutional in obese subjects undergoing weight reduction.

Investigators in Germany recently conducted a study "to determine how leptin and ghrelin are expressed in the adipose tissues of obese adults undergoing gastric banding (LAGB), and to correlate tissue expression with serum concentrations and parameters of the metabolic syndrome."
